1.1. The MAXIV 3 GeV storage ring vacuum chambers are conductance limited tubes and in addition, there is a limitation in the space available to place conventional pumping, which is needed to achieve the required vacuum level necessary for the operation of the machine. Due to this, there will be the need for performing NEG coating on the inner surface of the chambers, this coating will provide the pumping speed needed and reduce the total outgassing of the vacuum chambers.
