Sida plans to commission a central evaluation of Sida´s approaches to democratisation in different country contexts. Sida aims to publish the call for tender towards the end of 2022 or early 2023. The evaluation will assess Sida’s approaches to democratisation in different country contexts relative to the experiences, best practices and evidence available to see how well Sida has adapted to an increased focus on democratisation support at the agency and changes witnessed within the sector. The evaluation is meant to provide lessons learned from what works and what doesn’t work in a range of different contexts in the area of democratisation support. The maximum budget will be 3 million Swedish kronor. The evaluator will be able to suggest a schedule for the evaluation, but the maximum time-frame available will be approximately one and a half year from the start. We will not be able to answer any questions before the publication of the call for tender.
