Karlstad University’s procurement of an evaluation system for courses and degree programs Karlstad University's vision is to contribute to society in a sustainable way. The strategic goals for 2030 state, among others, that the University shall strengthen its appeal among students and staff, and increase the relation between education and research. Achieving the goals requires systematic efforts to identify strengths and ensuring that these are maintained and developed. The overall quality assurance system aims to support and facilitate university's processes and results regarding vision and strategies. Karlstad University's quality assurance system rests on the joint framework for quality assurance developed by the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF) and on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).  Quality assurance aims to ensure and develop quality in education, research and central support systems. Quality assurance is expected to promote a quality culture which includes participation and commitment to the university. Through systematic quality assurance the University can identify and share exemplary practices and areas to develop. The continuous monitoring (ESG 1.9) of undergraduate and master level studies concerns the whole offering of programmes and courses. These are followed up in planning dialogues in accordance with the annual reports on decisions made by the faculties and the board of teacher education regarding programme and course offerings. The monitoring includes societal needs and the labour market, teaching capacity, research links, previous evaluations and measures, the volume of offerings in semesters to come and other decision of relevance. Programmes and courses are evaluated through a joint online system for collecting and analysing student views. Results are presented as programme analysis and course analysis, published on the university website. Faculty board and the board of teacher education design the
