The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is procuring a scientific grade femtosecond laser to be used in pump-probe spectroscopy. Our current femtosecond system uses a Spectra Physics Spitfire regenerative amplifier integrated with two optical parameteric amplifiers (OPA) operating at 1 kHz and giving ~100 fs pulses tunable from 260 nm to 2600 nm.
