Procurement of a femtosecond laser
Electronic structure and dynamics of materials is an important research field at KTH. Understanding the response of materials at the ultra-fast time-scale (femtoseconds) is imperative to meet future needs in development of novel advanced materials and devices. KTH will award a contract to a single supplier for a complete femtosecond laser, i.e. a short pulse laser, which must be compatible with our research interests in the field of high harmonic generation for ultra-fast electron microscopy and angular resolved photo-electron spectroscopy. The femtosecond laser will be used for high harmonic generation (> 20 eV photon energy) at repetition rates up to 1 MHz. It will also be used as pump to drive processes/changes within samples of our interest.
