Current BHS in in Airports Terminal 2 does not fulfil present or future operational requirements regarding functionality, capacity, flexibility or work environment. As a consequence Airport management have decided for the development of a new baggage handling system to replace the existing system.The new BHS shall be a state-of-the-art fully automatic sorting system with in-line HBS screening in partially new and partially reconstructed buildings at the Airport. The new BHS shall be designed for a capacity of more than 2 000 bags per hour, standard and oversize bags, and be capable of expansion to meet the needs of future stages of the project, including increase in capacity, new functionality and adaption to HBS Standard 3 requirements. The procurement will among other things include:
— check-in and self-service bag drop for standard bags, oversize and non-conveyable bags,
— transport systems,
— sorting for standard and oversize bags,
— sorting bins, laterals and speed loaders...
