High-performance optical measurement system for material deformation and vibrations
The Odqvist Laboratory for Experimental Mechanics at KTH intends to procure a system for high-speed visualisation and measurement including appropriate illumination. The stand-alone system should be based on high-speed imaging and suitable for high-speed 2D and 3D visualisation and full-field measurement with dedicated illumination possibilities. Typically such a system comprises two cameras and a modular illumination system that allows visualisation and measurement of a wide range of physical phenomena. The system should be controlled by suitable software on a computer. The digital image analysis software should have the possibility to process and analyse image data to evaluate surface displacement and strain on an object subjected to an excitation or a load. The purchase will help develop and build technology platforms to further strengthen and expand the on-going vigorous research activities and the instrumental set up will be displayed and used in education as well as in industry partnerships, thus reaching a wide audience of additional users and potential future buyers.
