Background and scope
Research in geology at the University of Gothenburg is focused on a wide range of fundamental research and applications on all aspects of geology. The existing LA-ICP-MS is one of the most important facilities at the Department of Earth Sciences. Now there is a need to upgrade the lab with a new ICP-MS.

About the Department of Earth Sciences
The subject of Earth Sciences is the study of the planet we live upon, its air, soil, rocks, seabeds, land formations, the causes of earthquakes and mineral deposits, earth-surface processes and the origin and behaviour of oceans and atmosphere.
The Department of Earth Sciences at Gothenburg University has a strong research profile within three themes: Climate, Marine Environment, Geological Resources and Risks.
