The poker enterprise has been successful and the poker business is continuously evolving, though the market has declined in Sweden over the last couple of years. As a step in its continued development the market leader Svenska Spel has explored the possibilities of implementing a new poker platform for the online application, as well as the benefit of a supplier competition after these past six years, which now results in this procurement.
Year 2011, the net profit from Poker on svenskaspel.se declined to 214 MSEK from 231 MSEK. This is approximately 2 % of Svenska Spel’s total net profit. Svenska Spel’s revenue market share for online Poker played by Swedish citizens increased to 34 % from 33 % during the same time period.
