Solid state detector of electrons for Low Energy Electron Microscope

Lunds universitet

The MAX IV Laboratory is a Swedish national synchrotron facility. One of the beamlines at the small (1,5 GeV) synchrotron ring, Maxpeem, houses an aberration corrected low energy electron microscope ACLEEM (Elimitec, GmbH). The microscope has extremely high spatial resolution (2 nm) but still uses an old (MCP + CCD) detection scheme which limits the ultimate microscope performance. The goal is now to replace the old detector with a new, solid state detector, with much better performance.

Motivation for cancelling. For your information: In this procurement process we have come to the conclusion that the only received tender unfortunately cannot be accepted. The reason for this is budget conditions, which this tender exceeds. The process will therefore be terminated. However, from our market survey, we have understood that the concerned tenderer have alternative products based on the same core components (with lower performance, but still conforming to our mandatory product requirements) available. This opens for a continued dialog, a negotiation with the aim to come to an agreement, a procurement contract. The purpose of the negotiation is to get the tenderer to adjust his tender price, probably even with changed product performance, but still conforming to the initial product requirements. This negotiation will be based on the requirements stated in the tender documents. Accordingly, a decision to switch to a “negotiated procedure without prior publication” according the Swedish Public Procurement Act (2016:1145) has been made.
