The Division of Microsystems Technology at the Department of Engineering Sciences of Uppsala University will purchase a confocal microscope system. The microscope is intended for imaging fluorescently labeled objects, such as cells, particles, in a 3D environment. The confocal capability of the microscope will allow better resolution and contrast compared to a standard fluorescence microscope. This system will allow taking z-stacks of stained samples, as well as automatic imaging and time-lapse experiments.
