Barriers to test and treat HIV

The objective of this tender is to identify barriers to test and treat HIV in specific high risk groups in EU MS and neighbouring countries. The scope is to develop a conceptual framework for testing and treating HIV that includes individual, community, biomedical, and societal determinants. Based on this conceptual framework a model for testing and treating HIV can be developed by taking into account HIV testing and counselling guidelines, HIV treatment guidelines and recommendations, the macro-structural context, health care, community organisations, etc. With such a deterministic model (stratified by risk groups), enabling and obstructing determinants for testing and treating HIV in EU MS and neighbouring countries can be identified. Based on these findings, appropriate intervention strategies should be formulated.
