Magnetron sputtering system
Luleå University of Technology has a plan to start a new research study in the field of solar conversion technology. Experimental Physics group, at the Division of Material Science, Department of Engineering Science and Mathematics will start a research line on the synthesis and characterization of advanced materials for next-generation solar cells. The target of the research program is the fabrication and characterization of all-solid-state solar cells based on oxide materials. For the purpose, thin film deposition is required in several steps of the fabrication process, including the transparent conducting layer, the semiconducting oxide films, the metallic back contacts and very thin buffer layers, which can influence charge transfer mechanisms in the operating device.
