Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope for fluorescent spectral imaging and Upright Microscope for brightfield imaging

A Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope (LSCM) system for fluorescent spectral imaging is to be procured by LiU for the Dept. of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKE). The system will be used daily by graduate (PhD) students, postdoctoral fellows and laboratory technicians to collect images of cells, biomaterials and biological tissues that have been labeled with up to 4 different fluorochromes (typically YFP, Alexa 488, Alexa 555, Alexa 594, Alexa 647, GFP, cy3, TRITC, Cy5, mKate, mTomato, mCherry, DAPI). The system must allow for live cell imaging, including time lapse photos.
The requested Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope system includes;
— 1 inverted microscope,
— 4 laser units,
— 1 incubation box for cell culture
— 1 computer,
— 1 wide screen monitor,
— a software package for image acquisition and processing
as stated and specified in the specification of requirements, section 2 in the Invitation to tender.
Also, an Upright Microscope for brightfield imaging is to be procured according to the technical specification in subsection 2.3 in the Invitation to tender.
