Preclinical PET/MR
Positron emission tomography (PET) is a sensitive and quantitative in vivo molecular imaging technique used to trace the fate of biologically relevant radiolabeled molecules in living beings. When combined with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), PET/MRI provides improved anatomical information and opportunities for in vivo measurement of physiological parameters, such as flow, perfusion and diffusion.
The preclinical PET/MRI system should have the capacity to perform approximately 500 small animal imaging examinations/year. The system will be installed at the Preclinical PET Platform (PPP) at Uppsala University.
