Five (5) plant growth cabinets

Uppsala University

Plant research within the Department of Ecology and Genetics requires highly controlled growth facilities with a wide temperature range.
Plant growth cabinets should meet the highest standards in terms of control and recording of temperature, light intensity and humidity such that conditions at different natural sites, as well as in different seasons or years can be simulated. We are specifically interested in comparing effects of simulated climates from different latitudes and altitudes. For this reason, our tender includes non-standard low-temperature growth cabinets that must be able to produce prolonged (weeks) below-zero temperatures together with high-light conditions. In particular, we need growth chambers with advanced low-temperature control that are able to avoid defrost cycles with temperature increases.
However, not all climate scenarios that we need to simulate include the technically demanding and expensive low temperatures and the planned experiments vary largely in size. Thus, we need a combination of medium-sized units capable of producing below-zero temperatures and higher-temperature units with large growth areas. The following units are needed:
— Three (3) low-temperature plant growth cabinets,
— Two (2) multi-tier plant growth cabinets.
