Automated soil CO2 exchange system simultaneously collecting PAR, soil temperature and soil moisture

SLU, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences

The soil and water management group at the Department of soil and environment, SLU, Uppsala will purchase a networked automated soil CO2 exchange system for precise infield measurements of CO2 emissions from soil, PAR, soil temperature and soil moisture.
The research group works with applied research within soil science. It has a front position in the field of CO2 emissions from peat soils in which the instrument will come to practise. The intended users have worked for several years with manual operated CO2 emission sensors. With an automated networked automated CO2 exchange system with high temporal resolution, we will take an important step towards frequent and yearly coverage of CO2 emissions.
The instrument will be used within a scientific environment in the field and will be moved between sites after completed measurement seasons. The requirements are therefore focused on robustness, ease of use as well as precision, resolution and flexibility.
