Vid en kärnteknisk olycka finns det risk för att radioaktiva ämnen kan spridas i luften. Luftprovtagaren ska användas för att samla in luftburna radioaktiva ämnen så att stråldoser till allmänheten och insatspersonal kan uppskattas. Dessutom kan provtagningen ge svar på vilka radioaktiva ämnen som förekommer i utsläppet. Luftprovtagarna ska placeras i befolkningscentra till exempek runt svenska kärnkraftverk i händelse av en olycka.

Scope:
The tender is for a complete laser system installed and tested at the MAXIV site. This laser is to be used as a driver for the photocathode electron gun supplying electrons to the linear accelerator. Since the accelerator is run all week, around the clock, emphasis for the laser is on robustness and reliability. The technical specifications and requirements are listed in Appendix 1.

The Laser physics group is part of the Department of Applied Physics at the School of Engineering Sciences at KTH. Our new projects that demands efficient THz generation also shows the need for high pulse energy in mJ scale. The THz sources with sufficiently-high field strength (GV/m) to modify material properties are of great interest in research on multi-phase magnetic and ferroelectric compounds as well as particle acceleration for a compact X-ray source.
