Investment Management: Emerging and Frontier Markets Managers

The allocation to Emerging Markets is around 10% of the funds AuM as of 30.6.2012, with the main part allocated to enhanced mandates. The objective of this search is to increase the allocation to active managers in Emerging Markets, allocate to Emerging Markets Small Cap and increase the current allocation to Frontier Markets. AP1 has a core satellite philosophy when structuring a portfolio of managers. Where the satellites are high conviction managers that has a benchmark agnostic approach and focusing on the absolute return than the benchmark relative return. The tender is open for the following strategies:
- EM Global
- FM Global
- Combined EM and FM Global
- EM Global Small Cap
- EM Regional (Asia, LATAM and EMEA)
- FM Regional (Asia, Africa)
Strategies that are similar to the strategies mentioned above might be considered.
Award criteria, which will apply, are stated below. The criteria are not listed according to priority. The offers that meet these criteria best will be selected.
- AP1's confidence in the candidate's long term ability to deliver future attractive uncorrelated risk adjusted returns
- Candidate's fit into AP1 overall investment objectives and service requirements (including among other things partner transparency, knowledge transfer and flexibility)
- Investment, operational and legal due diligence and risk management competence and capabilities
- Fees.
