Assessing the impact of vaccination with conjugate vaccines on the epidemiology of invasive pneumococcal disease in Europe
Framework contract to set up an active surveillance system for invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) in the EU and to assess the impact of the conjugate vaccines on the incidence and severity of the disease among children below 5 years of age. An additional objective is also to monitor the serotype replacement and antimicrobial resistance of circulating serotypes of Str. pneumoniae in the EU.
