Software for analysis and management of laboratory data for molecular surveillance
ECDC has identified a need for having specific dedicated software aimed at management and analysis of laboratory data, and particularly molecular typing data. This software will need to be able to handle a diverse set of laboratory data, such as sequence information, pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) images, multi-locus variable number of tandem repeats analysis (MLVA) data, and spoligotyping data. Additional laboratory methods may be added in the future, such as PCR-ribotyping data, Spa typing, etc. In addition, the software will also need to allow e.g. curation and classification according to a reference set of typing patterns as well as further analysis of the laboratory data, such as cluster analyses.
