FTIR- and Raman systems
Luleå University of Technology conducts research in the Faculty of engineering and the Faculty of arts and social sciences. Research within the Faculty of engineering is on the whole applied research and is characterised by multidisciplinary cooperation between the University’s departments in close interaction with trade, industry, and society.
The research that will be conducted using the FTIR- and Raman systems outlined below (systems 1-3) encompasses studies of thin zeolite membranes, thin films of other inorganic substances such as iron oxides, films formed in contacts between lubricants and steel/aluminium surfaces (tribofilms) as well as inclusions, carbon-based nano materials at high pressure (nanotubes, graphene, fullerenes), and superconducting materials (magnesium borides).
