Expert support to vCJD surveillance
The overall objective is to ensure a high-level expert support to the Member States in diagnosing and classifying vCJD cases and monitoring the developments in research. In particular, monitoring of research findings related to new zoonotic potentials and/or new emerging forms of CJD is addressed. These objectives will support the EU-level surveillance and provide sufficient sensitivity in detecting any emerging patterns in the epidemiology of vCJD.
